//TEKSTY DLA KATEGORII--------------------------------------------------------
&text1=The Silesia Land is an ample treasure of a long-standing culture. In spite of the numerous historic cataclysms, wars, famine and periods of misfortune, the local people created indelible spiritual and material goods, which have survived to this day.
The fact is that even today, it is difficult to imagine this place without factories, foundries and mines, without the hustle and bustle typical of a big-city and smoking chimneys. The previous two centuries left severe vestige of industrialization on this remarkable land.
However, the Silesia Land, especially its northern part, including the Lubliniec Poviat has managed to protect itself from the industrial and post-industrial devastation – it was, it is and will remain alluring.
Breathtaking nature with the countless forests and magnificent parks (a park surrounding the palace in Koszęcin and Kochcice), strips of farmlands and flowery meadows have been preserved here. Many of the areas belong to the legally protected national parks (Upper Liswarta Forests Landscape Park), nature reserves (Jeleniok – Mikuliny) and numerous natural features of historic importance.
How much architectural beauty can be admired here! Historic park and palace complexes in Koszęcin and Kochcice, palaces in Wierzbie, Koszęcin, Kochanowice and other places constitute just a substitute of it. Almost in every area of the Lubliniec Poviat, legally protected palaces, manor houses, farm architecture and other secular complexes can be found, not to mention the sacred architecture. Spectacular, unique in the shape and architectural form are the wooden churches in Baronów, Koszęcin, Bruśk, Cieszowa, Woźniki, Lubliniec, Gwoździany, Sadów. They all were erected centuries ago and have survived to this day thanks to good and wise administrators, melted into the greenery of age-old trees like lindens, oaks, chestnuts often surrounded by old graveyards.
Apart from the historic wooden churches, there is an enormous number of brick churches, including those that have been added to the list of classified historic buildings. They can, for instance, be found in Kochanowice, Lubliniec, Koszęcin, Sadów, Woźniki and in many other bigger and smaller localities of the Lubliniec Land. Inside the churches, one can not only contemplate the artistic beauty, but also feel the widely understood culture and religiousness of the Silesian people that used to live here centuries ago.
Travelling across the splendid Lubliniec Land, we come across numerous magnificent – usually very old – chapels and roadside crosses, put by our ancestors in places of disaster and joy, in the former – that have not remained – cemeteries of plagues at crossroads. These chapels are dedicated to many patron saints that have been worshipped here since time immemorial.
It is worth having a look at these distinctive works of art from close up, stepping into them or looking through the window and thinking that the beauty is the work of our ancestors and our pride, and that it is to continue for the next centuries.&

&text2=Lubliniec Land is the easternmost, peripheral corner of the Upper Silesia situated between two rivers: the Liswarta and the Mała Panew river. In distant ages, it constituted part of a vast wilderness borderland separating Silesia from Lesser Poland. Connected with the Silesia, Lubliniec Land shared the history of this province of the state of Poland.
After the reign of the Piasts, at first the Czech kings, then the Habsburgs (15321742), finally the Prussian Hohenzollerns (1742-1922) were the political superiors of this region. Being under different authorities, the Lubliniec Land, which was the borderland of Silesia, had always been in a close neighbourhood of vital areas of Polishness. The fate of Józefa Lompa (1797-1863), the priest Konstanty Damrot (1841-1895), Juliusz Ligoń (1823-1889), Jan Nikodem Jaroń (1881-1922), who in the Silesia were famous renovators and defendants of Polish spirit, is associated with this region.
As regards the economic history of the Lubliniec corner of the Green Silesia, two towns played a significant role, namely Lubliniec (founded circa 1272) and Woźniki (founded circa 1270) that were the centres of the local market, trade, craftsmanship, transport junctions, as well as more important centres of education and culture. Owing to the geographical, political and environmental conditions, in the past, Lubliniec region had always been more dominated by a peasant rather than a burgess, by a farmer rather than a craftsman.
Nevertheless, in its economic history, there were periods that broke the above drawn picture. From Mediaeval Ages till the 19th century, it was a real old-Silesian iron and steel industry region. Located at the Lublinica, Leśnica and Liswarta river, the ironworks made use of the wood coal produced on the basis of the resources of the local forests and sod deposits of iron ore. Walenty Roździeński, who was an ironworker and a poet, the author of a well-known poem titled “Officina Ferraria”, published in Cracow in 1612, was connected with one of such ironworks in Brusiek.
Among the changes in the panorama of the history of the Lubliniec Land, certain, relatively permanent features of people, for whom it constitutes a small homeland, have emerged. In particular, these are: a distinguishing borderlandness of culture, plebianism, the cultivation of the work ethos, attachment to the Catholic faith.&

&text3=The Lubliniec Poviat is situated between two macroregions: Woźnicko-Wieluńska Upland and the Silesian Lowlands.
Referring to the Józef Kondracki’s physical-geographical division, the Woźnicko-Wieluńska Upland is part of the Silesia-Cracow Upland.
The Woźnicko-Wieluńska Upland, situated in the north-eastern part of the Poviat, encompasses smaller entities called mazoregions: Wożnicki Step, Herbski Step and Liswarta River Depression.
The highest hill of 366m above sea level high near Lubsza, and the Mount Grojec located nearby, which is 365m above sea level are in the eastern part of the Poviat. The lowest areas, which are 220 m above sea level, are located in the south-western part of the Poviat, south from Kośmidry. The Mała Panew and the Liswarta being the region’s rivers have their source on the Woźnicki Step.
The Upland is built of Mesozoic rocks, formed mainly as limestone, sandstone, marl and clay. Monoclinal geological structure is characteristic for it. As a consequence of long-term destructive processes on outcrops of rocks resistant to decay, mainly on Triassic sandstones, the so-called tectonic steps (cuestas) were formed whereas on the outcrops of rocks of law resistance, depressions emerged. Steps form in the lie of the land high, elongated hills, and rivers flow down the depressions. In the Quaternary period, postglacial sediments – sands, gravel and clay of various thickness were deposited in these depressions.
The southern part of the Lubliniec Poviat is situated in the Silesia Lowlands, in the mesoregion of the Opolska Plain. A fragment of the Plain rises up to 220-300m above sea level, and belongs to the upper river basin of the Mała Panew. As regards the surface features, it is a sandy plain diversified with a considerable number of high dune (the so-called fossil dunes that emerged in the postglacial period, being now overgrown with forests). The town of Lubliniec is located on the border of the Opolska Plain and the Woźnicki Step, 252 m above sea level.
The region depicted here, has mostly an agricultural character; forest complexes can be found within the depressions. Poor padzol, brown and alluvial soil is typical of it. A considerable part of the Liswarta Depression and the Herbski Step belongs to the Upper Liswarta Forests Landscape Park and almost the entire Mała Panew valley is occupied with pine-oak forests, named Lasy Lublinieckie (the Forests of Lubliniec).&

&text4=Lubliniec Poviat belongs to the most beautiful corners of the Silesian Voivodeship. Forests cover over 50% of its entire area. In the forests of Lubliniec, you can encounter many rare tree varieties, an amazingly appealing flora as well as rare animal species.
Lubliniec, located among the following ponds: Posmyk, Kokotek I, Kokotek II, Piegża and the valleys of the Mała Panew and the Leśnica River, constitutes the centre of the Lubliniec Land. Owing to the preservation of the natural river beds, the Mała Panew and the Leśnica river create beautiful meanders, spectacular flood terraces and old river beds.
In the forested recreational areas of Lubliniec, one can admire Europe’s distinctive plants and animals. Suffice it to say, that the Piegża pond despite being the feeding ground and the breeding site of cranes, red-necked grebes, bitterns, common snipes, nightjars and green sandpipers, is also a feeding ground of white-tailed eagles and one of few habitats of otters and a seasonal habitat of beavers.
Forests of the Lubliniec Land, which a wide botanic variety and attractiveness characterises, cover vast complexes; despite that they are a paradise for big game hunting and a perfect place for mushroom and berry pickers. The forests, mainly consist of mixed dry and wet coniferous forests, where pine trees dominate. Valuable forest complexes of this area include low dry-ground forests with ashes and alders, and a bright oak wood with thermophilic plant sites.
Among the forests, many bodies of water and ponds that diversify the area and add to its biodiversity can be encountered. The shores of the watercourses are overgrown with carrs with a precious community of the submontane ash carr. In the ponds, aquatic vegetation, including many protected water species develops – yellow and white water lilies, Salvinia natans and rush-plants. Thanks to the considerable number of watercourses, fish as well as other water animals, such as amphibians and waterfowl, find here convenient living conditions. Among the rare bird species that can be found here are: red-necked grebe, whooper swan, white-tailed eagle, black stork and crane. As for reptiles, the smooth snake is unarguably the biggest local peculiarity. The European crayfish occurs in the upper stretches of the Liswarta river.
Apart from the forest and water areas, it would be unforgettable not to mention the fields and meadows of the Lubliniec Land, where one can also come across many rare flora and fauna species that live in this biocoenosis.
The nature of the Lubliniec Land is legally protected within 6 nature reserves – 5 forest ones (3 yew reserves), and 1 faunal reserve (Jeleniak-Mikuliny protecting crane breeding site). In the Lubliniec Land, there are also many existing and planned animate and inanimate nature monuments, ecological and documentation sites.
The natural abundance of the Lubliniec Land is confirmed by the fact that six out of the eight communes that belong to it, are part of a remarkably picturesque Landscape Park called “Upper Liswarta Forests”. Among its most popular natural peculiarities are the monumental site of the rhododendron catawbiense, multiflorous glanduliflora variety, and an inanimate nature monument in Olszyna – erratic boulder that has 5.2 m in circumference named the Devils’ Stone.&

&text5=The Lubliniec Land is an attractive place for tourism and recreation, on the grounds of its great natural, sightseeing and leisure advantages. Admiring the beautiful landscapes, pristine nature and many appealing historic buildings, one can relax well and regain strength.
One of the places that are really worth visiting is the Landscape Park ”Upper Liswarta Forests”, where the abundance of streams and bodies of clean water and the vast forest complexes form a unique and remarkably picturesque landscape.
It is also worth sightseeing the following nature reserves: ”Mount Grojec”, ”Mount Rajchowa”, ”Jeleniak–Mikuliny”, ”Yews in Łebki”, ”Yews on the Liswarta River” and ”Yews near Sieraków”, as well as the animate and inanimate nature monuments, among others yews in Sadów, rhododendron catawbiense site in Kochanowice Commune and ”Devil’s Stone” in Herby.
The Lubliniec Land is fame for its valuable historic buildings of Silesian wooden sacred architecture, which one must see while visiting the Lubliniec Poviat. The Church of Our Rosary Lady in Boronów, the Church of the Holy Trinity in Koszęcin, the Church of St John the Baptist in Brusiek, the Church of St Marcin in Cieszowa, and the Church of St Ann’s in Lubliniec are unarguably the most precious wooden churches of this region.
Worth visiting is also the palace and park complexe in Koszęcin as well as in Kochcice, and the previous factory of clay tobacco pipes in Zborowskie village.
The Lubliniec Land is a paradise for people who adore active leisure, both for the enthusiasts of bicycle sports, strollers, anglers and horse riding aficionados. For the latter, the holiday resort ”Posmyk-Leśne Ustronie” has prepared a gripping offer of cross-country horse riding, britzka (Polish old-style pen carriages with a folding top pulled by a horse) and sleigh rides. In Kochanowice Commune, one must take a walk along a didactic hiking trail called ”Na Brzozę” and in Koszęcin along a path named ”Klepaczka”.Worth recommending are also the ”Józefa Lompy” and ”Powstańców Śląskich” tourist trails.
The Lubliniec Land is strewn with natural and artificial bodies of water, where one can catch a popular carp, roach or crucian carp. In addition, these reservoirs and, especially the numerous ponds located in Kokotek being the district of Lubliniec enable to do water sports. At tourists’ disposal, the “Silesiana” and the ”Posmyk- Leśne Ustronie” holiday resorts have boats, pedal boats and canoes. Canoeing down the Mała Panew River, offered by Commune Centre of Sport and Recreation in Koszęcin, can be another great attraction.
Agritourism is among the most dynamically developing fields of tourism. Agritourist farms offer high standard leisure and numerous attractions, such as horseback riding, angling, hunting, participation in daily activities connected with running a farm. These farms specialise in providing tourists not only with the possibility of spending their time in an active way, communing with nature, but also tasting local dishes prepared from ecological products. Agritourism is an excellent offer for whole families eager to have a break from the hustle and bustle of a big city and relax in the bosom of nature.&

&text6=The Song and Dance Ensemble „Śląsk” was founded under a decision of the Culture and Art Minister on 10 March, 1953. The ensemble’s activity was initiated on 1 July, 1953. The originator and founder of the „Śląsk” ensemble and its artistic director was professor Stanisław Hadyna – son of a music teacher from Silesia and a widely known collector of folk songs.
The objective of the ensemble is to present the centuries-old Silesian folklore, which in spite of its presence in an area of a huge variety has managed to preserve its peculiar, characteristic only for it, image. It includes distinguishing rhythms, expressions, melodic themes and texts of particular songs. What is more, one of the most precious values of Silesian folklore is the ability to process everything into its own original form. With the passing of time, the ensemble added to its repertoire other Polish songs and dances, as well as preparations of operas, oratorios and sacred music. Currently, in the ensemble’s repertoire, one can find eighteen various artistic forms – from great performances which depict the colourful and dynamic folklore panorama of all the regions of the country, effective educational concerts to the presentation of classic and sacred music.
The „Śląsk” is an amazing synthesis of music, dance and song of folk origin. A phenomenon arousing admiration and respect among audiences around the world. For over half a century, the artists in the ensemble have been presenting the highest level of performance skills. Perfectionism and professionalism constitute the ensemble’s hallmarks. Orchestra, choir and ballet are the pride of the „Śląsk”. Faithfulness to tradition in each word of lyrics and music sound, attention to details, and the colours of costumes are other chief assets of the Song and Dance Ensemble „Śląsk”. Responsibility for everything is the Ensemble’s motto, which can be observed on the stage so that its artistic work could have educational value and be an example for others.
The Song and Dance Ensemble “Śląsk” in memory of Stanisław Hadyna, is one of the most recognizable Polish artistic names. “Śląsk” has been working on its reputation for 57 years.&
